After I ran out my Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, I had a hard time to decide whether I should repurchase it or try another exfoliating toner. I ended up using none of them for several weeks. I wouldn't say it went well. Those nasty cystic pimples came back out of nowhere. Actually, I know what caused it (I'm talking to you, delicious fried foods). That's why I thought it's time to use an exfoliator again to get things better (exfoliation helps get rid of dead skin cells so they won't clog the pores, in case you didn't know). Aku gak mau ambil risiko dengan membeli Some By Mi Toner dan Serum langsung yang full size. Makanya, aku beli yang ukuran mini imut-imut ini. Rangkaian mini starter ini sebenarnya terdiri atas sabun batang, toner, serum, dan krim. Tapi, aku hanya beli toner dan serum karena aku gak suka pakai sabun batang yang gak praktis dan higienis itu. Aku juga gak tertarik beli krimnya karena kelihatan terlalu berat untuk kulit yang berminyak.

But, I only purchased toner and serum because I hate the unpractical and unhygienic facial wash in a soap bar form and the cream looks too rich for my oily skin.

Sejujurnya, aku agak takut untuk coba toner ini. Meskipun banyak ulasan-ulasan yang menjanjikan bertebaran di internet, kebanyakan ulasan itu bilang akan ada masa purging pada awal pemakaian. Ternyata, aku gak mengalami hal itu atau reaksi buruk lainnya. Berarti, gak semua orang akan mengalami purging ya, semua kembali lagi ke kulit masing-masing.
Toner ini seperti toner pada umumnya yang bisa menyeimbangkan kadar pH kulit dan memastikan kulit kita sudah benar-benar bersih dari kotoran atau makeup. Tekstur toner ini persis seperti air, bening dan gak kental. Rasa di kulit gak menyengat seperti toner-toner yang mengandung AHA yang sudah pernah aku coba. Toner ini juga gak terasa lengket seperti toner BHA pada umumnya. Setelah meresap ke kulit, terasa kulit akan halus dan lumayan terhidrasi berkat kandungan PHA. Oh iya, toner ini juga gak punya bau menyengat yang mengganggu. Baunya itu seperti semacam bau herbal.

Turns out, I didn't experience any bad skin conditions at all. It means not everyone will experience purging, it depends on each other's skin.
This toner just felt like a regular one which balances out skin pH balance and makes sure there's no any remaining dirt or makeup on the skin. The texture looks exactly like water. It's a clear and not thick liquid. How does it feel on my skin? It doesn't sting at all like other AHA toner I've tried. It also doesn't sticky like other BHA toner usually does. Once it absorbs completely, it leaves your skin feeling so soft and hydrated thanks to the PHA. There's no annoying strong smell. It has a kind of refreshing herbal scent.

Let me break it down one by one. As I said before, it is hydrated so the PHA actually works. Then, this toner definitely helps me heal my acne. Since using it, my cystic acne has been decreasing a lot. So, I think the BHA does a good job. But, did it remove or at least decrease my sebum? Absolutely, not. Well, I won't blame it since my oily skin is genetic.
Next, did it get rid of dead skin cells? I'm not really sure to say yes. That is what AHA is supposed to do so you will have a brighter complexion just like how it claims. But, I didn't see any difference in my skin tone. By getting rid of dead skin, AHA also has an ability to remove clogged pores like whiteheads. But, once again, I didn't notice any difference. Sebelumnya, jerawat batuku lumayan banyak, kira-kira bisa ada 3 sampai empat jerawat di pipi kanan dan kiri. Aku gak bilang kalau jerawatku sudah hilang semua, ya. Sampai saat aku menulis postingan ini, aku masih punya satu atau dua jerawat hormonal di dagu, hidung, dan dahi. Meskipun begitu, perubahan ini tetap bisa dibilang memuaskan.
Aku suka bagaimana kedua produk ini punya daftar kandungan yang "bersih". Gak ada kandungan yang bisa memicu jerawat dan iritasi. Artinya, kalau aku mengalami breakout atau iritasi di kemudian hari, aku akan yakin, bukan kedua produk ini yang menyebabkannya. Daftar kandungan yang "bersih" ini juga kabar gembira bagi teman-teman yang punya kulit sensitif. Meskipun mengandung 3 bahan aktif, kalian tetap bisa menggunakan keduanya dengan tenang.

My cystic acne was so bad before. It could be at least 3 or 4 quite big and painful pimples on my cheeks. I'm not trying to say that I don't have any pimple right now. By the time I'm writing this post, I am left just with at least one or two of these annoying hormonal pimples on my chin, nose, and forehead. Even so, it is still a satisfying difference.
I love how both of these products have a very clean ingredient list. There is no acne and irritation trigger ingredient. It means if I experience breakout or irritated skin in the near future, I could be sure it is not caused by any of them. This clean ingredient list is also good news too for those who have sensitive skin. Even though the toner consists of 3 different exfoliant agents, you can still use it without being worried.
So, the only claim that turns out to be true is how these products help me get acne free skin. It's a big deal for me because finally, I've discovered some products that are able to overcome one of my skin problems, in 30 days! It's a big deal for me because finally, I've discovered some products that are able to overcome one of my skin problems, in 30 days! It's enough for me now, even though the other claims like shrink pores, decrease sebum, or brighten up skin tone are not really what happened to me. I'm also a little bit disappointed that these products couldn't get rid of whiteheads on my forehead which I'm most expected about. However, these products are still totally worth to try!
